中西人名文化对比研究

A contrastive analysis of the naming between China and foreign countries

本文从文化的角度来对比分析中西人名.首先从人名的内部结构上分析二者的差别,然后进一步说明二者在姓的来源及命名方法上的差别.同时,由于人名又是人类社会所通用的用于区别个体的方法,文章最后分析了其不受文化限制的一些特点.

This paper is intended as a contrastive analysis of the naming systems between China and English speaking countries from the cultural perspective. Firstly, the differences of the internal structure between the two systems are illuminated. In the second part, this paper comes to expounding the origins of family names in both cultures. Then the means and rituals employed in the naming of a person is introduced, with the emphasis on those of China. In addition, since names are commonly used method of identifying an individual, the final part is devoted to speculating on some of the characteristics free from cultural restriction.
