O-(3-Chloro-2-propenyl)-hydroxylamine, a synthesis intermediate for 3-hydroxycyclohex-2-enones herbicides,was prepared using acetic ester and hydroxylamine hydrochloride by three steps via acetylamination, etherification, andhydrolysis. Overall yield was >90%, and purity was >99%.
