翻译服务业是全球的大产业。国际翻译服务贸易具有高度自由化、技术和知识密集、贸易方式多样性等五个特点。中国翻译产业要走向世界,必须采取建立宏观引导机制,加强信息、资源和后勤网络的建设;鼓励建立对外贸易性翻译企业;不断提高专业化水平,建立翻译服务的国际品牌。

The paper aims to discuss the status quo and characteristics of international translation services which have grown into a big industry in the world, where translation-related cost, quality, efficiency and confidentiality are greatly valued. It points out that the advanced countries or areas have gained the dominance in the market-share. It finally touches upon the strategies for China to orient its translation services to the world.
