Based on GB 3100～3102—93《Quantity and Unit》,the standards of quantity and unit in the field of building materials including theses, books and specifications are investigated. The results show that there are many incorrect expressions of quantity and unit in them. Therefore, the authors in the field of building materials must pay great attention to this problem and correct it as far as possible.
