This paper will inquire into American playwright, Arthur Miller's play Death Of A Salseman from a new perspective of the conflict between father and son. After the father and son relationships of three generations are analyzed, average American immigrants' puzzlement and the desperate state of mind are uncovered when their American dreams for wealth fall through. And the resulting psychology of alienation is also expounded in this paper.
