摘要
人类对语言的理解是一个看似简单,实则极其复杂的过程。介绍了影响自然语言理解的诸因素及其作用,阐释了非语言因素参与语言理解过程两种可能的方式。介绍了具有模块性的系统的本质特征,讨论了模块理论及其对语言理解,特别是对句子加工过程的解释。在此基础上,利用实验结果证明了句子句法加工过程的模块性,指出今后句子理解研究的方向和重点。
Despite its seeming simplicity, natural language understanding is a very complex process. After an account of the involved elements and their functions, two possible ways for the non-linguistic factors to participate in the understanding process are expounded. An analysis of the essential features of modular systems is followed by a detailed discussion on the modular theory and its interpretation of natural language understanding, sentence processing in particular. Modularity of sentence processing is verified by experimental data. Trend and focus of the research on sentence processing are anticipated.
