When patients with dyspareunia see the doctor, they are often in extreme pain and sore distress. The patients complain of pain during insertion or deep thrust of penis or post-coitally. They and their husbands need help from health care providers or doctors for making necessary modifications in the sexual relationship that greatly contribute to an improved quality of life. Endometriosis is the common gynecologic disease that often causes women's dyspareunia. Interstitial cystitis (IC) is a relatively rare chronic bladder condition. Symptoms of IC include pelvic pain and dyspareunia. Drugs and psychotherapy are effective in solving such sexual problems.
