On Mao Zedong's Mass Viewpoint and its Development of Our Time

毛泽东的群众观构成了作为毛泽东思想活的灵魂的三个基本方面之一——群众路线的基本内容,它的基本观点可以概括为一切为了群众、一切依靠群众、从群众中来到群众中去三个方面。在新时期里,它仍然是指导我们取得革命和建设胜利的重要思想之一。我们党以它为指导,提出了一系列新观点:党要始终代表中国最广大人民的根本利益,不断增强党在全社会的影响力和凝聚力,坚持和健全民主集中制,等等。继承和发展毛泽东的群众观对于我们党搞好自身建设、带领全国人民实现现代化建设的目标有着重要的指导意义。

Mao Zedong's mass viewpoint forms one of three basic aspects as the alive soul of Mao Zedong Thought——the basic contents of the mass line. Its basic viewpoint may be summarized as follows: everything is for the masses, everything must rely on the masses, and leaders must come from the masses and go back among the masses. During the new period, it is still one of important thought which is supervising us in gaining victories of revolution and construction. Our Party takes it as the guidance and puts forward a series of new viewpoints: the Party want to represent the basic interests of the vastest majority of Chinese people from beginning to end, to en- hance the Party's influence and condensation continuously, and to insist and strengthen democratic centralism, etc. To inherit and develop Mao Zedong's mass viewpoint has the important guidance significance for doing the Party's self-construction well and leading the people throughout the country to achieve the good of building mod- ernizations.
