摘要
二十世纪末 ,人工智能 (AI)界出现一个不同于历史、哲学、心理学的研究科学发现的新领域 ,即机器发现 ,这种机器发现工作已经远远超出其本身所有的人工智能价值而对科学史、科学哲学乃至认知科学研究产生了广泛影响。本文从方法论视角考察最重要的机器发现程序之一BACON ,以揭示它对我们了解科学发现本性的重要意义。
At the end of 20th century, a new approach of studying scientific discovery came into existence in artificial intelligence (AI), which is different from historical, philosophical and psychological research approaches and is called Machine Discovery. The research work not only has significance to AI, but also has impacted the research of history of science, philosophy of science and cognitive science. This essay will give general reviews on BACON, one of the most important MD programs, in order to show its importance for us to know the nature of scientific discovery.
