Using information technoloty to improve civil enginee ri ng is one of the development strategies of civil engineering in information age. This paper studies the connotation,characteristics,strategic aim,frame composing ,implementing countermeasure,construction of demonstrated project and the signif icance of information civil engineering.In addtion,the paper gives the general s trategic scheme of information civil engineering.The implementation of informati on civil engineering will advance the construction technology and management lev el of civil engineering,and will cause the formation of information civil engine ering industry.
