A new organic compound N,N,N′,N′-tetra(2-nitrilethyl)ethylenediamine was synthesized by the nucleophilic additive reaction of ethylenediamine and acrylonitrile. Its structure and thermal properties were characterized by IR spectrum, 1 H NMR, elemental analysis, ES-MS and TGA. Results show that the obtained compound is the titled compound whose gravity losing area is 162 28-400 ℃, and it is stable under 300 ℃.
