The Exploration of the Relationship Between the Su Clan of Meishan in the Song Dynasty and Geomantic Configuration

The Su Clan of Meishan in the Song Dynasty, of which Su Xun, Su Shi and Su Zhe were their representatives, cared much about geomantic configuration. People at that time and later generations had large number of legends and sayings about the relationship between the Su Clan and geomantic configuration. However, geomantic configuration was not the real reason for the flourish of the Su Clan. The Song Dynasty had an integrated imperial examination system, and favorable family education was the cultural guarantee of the Su Clan′s prosperity.
