An automatic control system for one municipal wastewater treatment plant is selected, designed and discussed. The results indicate that PLC control system is the best choice. The detailed guidelines for the PLC control system design are provided. The PLC automatic control for the plant operation can be combined with OA (office automation) tightly. This provides an important reference for the automatic control system design of a large-scale municipal wastewater treatment plant.
