The New Chinese Cultural Circle and Its Negative Significance

作者认为,所谓"汉文化圈"的含义和内容等既不明确,也缺失现实的基础,并且事实上对"汉文化圈"存在着许多误读。作者认为,"汉文化圈"这一归纳的消极意义远较积极意义为甚,不宜在现实的政治和经济活动中提用这一类的概念;但可在历史和文化的研究中,保留和使用这一类的提法。

The book under the title of the New Chinese Cultural Circle written by Mr. Leon Vandermeersch and published in 1986 has stimulated people to quote, study and long for such a modern circle. However, the content and meaning of the modern Chinese circle are still indefinite and lack of realism foundation. In reality, the Chinese culture circle is misread widely. After a series thinking over the reaction of economy and politics, it can be recognized that the negative function of the appliance of the circle is more than its active one. It's not suitable to stand for the circlelike in reality political and economic activities, but it may be used in the research of history and culture.
