A Study of Military Centralization of Authority Inside the Feudal Separatist Rules in the Middle and Late Tang Dynasty

唐代中后期藩镇内部频繁的军士动乱严重威胁了地方节度使的社会地位和人身安全。在藩镇内部,一些节度使为了维护自身的安全,采取了诛杀乱军、设置亲兵部队、质子、严密监视等一系列措施来控制势力强大的藩镇军队,取得了一定的效果,开五代及北宋军事制度改革的先河。

The turmoil of noncommissioned officers happened frequently inside the feudal separatist rules in the middle and late Tang Dynasty,which threatened the social status and the personal safety of the local jiedushi gravely. Inside the feudal separatist rules, in order to protect their own safety, some jiedushi took a series of measures, such as slaughtering noncommissioned officers who took part in the turmoil,setting up the personal groops, zhizi and keeping a watchful eye on subordinates tightly, to control yabing who got powerful force,and it took certain effection. These measures are the source of the military rules reformation in Wudai and North Song Dynasty.
