在商业气息无孔不入的时代,友情、爱情、亲情、婚姻、家庭无一不受着金钱与欲望的侵袭和考验。张欣以一个女作家的独特体验展示了现代都市人尤其是女性的生存环境和在金钱欲望中挣扎的种种人性:她们在逐钱追情时或卑琐,或清高,或理直气壮,或视之如粪土;或为情所惑,或视情如鸿毛,或重情胜于万物。作者借商与情、理与情的矛盾和冲突,寄托了她内心的震憾、困惑、思考和抉择。

In the commodity economy age, everything is attacked by money and desire including true love, friendship, marriage, family etc. Zhangxin reveals the living environment of the women in the big cities and their personalities which they behave differently in the pursuit of emotion and money . The author expresses her shock, puzzle, thought and choice through the description of the conflicts between commerce and emotion , sense and emotion .
