摘要
本文扼要介绍了笫 2 3届国际大地测量与地球物理学联合会 (IUGG)的主要学术活动及其特点 ,包括大会的 4个主题报告和 8个联合会学术大会的情况 ,其共同特点是强调对地球系统过程的多学科综合研究 ,充分展示了当今地球科学学科交叉和融合的态势。此外 ,对IUGG理事会会议和大会决议等也作了简短的报导。
Main scientific activities and characteristics of IUGG 2003, including 4 Union Lectures and 8 Union Symposia, have been introduced briefly. It is stressed that multidisciplinary study on Earth system process and the application of high technologies to Earth science are the main trends in the development of modern Earth science. Council Meeting of IUGG as well as the resolutions of IUGG2003 are also described.
