On the basis of a glimpse of function and conventional fabrication techniques of scaffold for tissue engineering, recent development in biodegradable scaffold preparations, including three dimensional printing, fused deposition modelling and selective laser sinter are reviewed. In the end, the research trend in this field are prospected.
