The Initial Explonation of Early Chinese Navigational Logbook

公元十七世纪末十八世纪初,在西太平洋沿岸航行的中国商船上出现了一种早期的《航海日志》——《日清》.本文首次介绍了《日清》出现的复杂背景、《日清》之丰富内容,分析了《日清》之鲜明特色,并将其与西方著名的《哥伦布航海日志》作了初步比较,最后指出了《日清》在古代中国航运界昙花一现之原因,就在于当时尚不具备广泛的群众基础和来自生产的需要.

In the end of 17 century or at the beginning of 18 century, an early navigational logbook appeared on the sailing Chinese merchant ships along he coast of the wets pacific ocean. This artical, for the first time, presented the complicated background and plentyfal content of the logbook, and also analysed the distinctive characteristics of the logbook, compared the logbook with the clombus' one. Finally the author pointed out the reason wby the logbook lasted briefly in old Chinese navigation was that it was short of masses foundation and the demands coming from the production.
