The Similarities and Differences Between the Manors of Japan and West-Europe in Middle Ages

庄园在中世纪的日本和西欧曾是长期存在的最基本的土地经营单位,对各自经济、政治及社会的影响深远。日本与西欧的庄园制有着极为相似之处,同时又有各自十分明显的特点,对两者异同点的比较研究不仅可以更好地把握日本与西欧封建社会的历史演进轨迹,而且有助于引发对当代日本与西欧一些经济、政治及社会现象或问题的历史思考。

Manors have been the most universal and fundamental agricultural and administrative unites both in Japan and West-Europe during Middle Ages, they influenced Japan and West-Europe deeply in economics, politics and society. By comparative researching into the manors of both sides, we can find out not only the similarities but also the differences between them. Stud-ying the similarities and differences we could grasp feudal history of Japan and West-Europe more easily and clearly, and even we could get some enlightenments from it when pondering their social phenomena and problems of nowadays.
