文章语言的真善美——信达雅

摘要 近代严复提出的翻译语言“信、达、雅“的原则 ,也堪为写作文章运用语言美学准则的经典概括 ,并正与当今我们追求的真、善、美的基本精神暗合。它们三者各有丰富的内涵 ,其间又存在着一种渐次升高的层级系统性。文章语言应当以真 (信 )为基础 ,包括语言表述要和运思成果高度相符 ,运思成果要和客观实际事理高度相符的相关层面 ;应当以善 (达 )为核心 ,包括通畅和新异、繁复和简洁、鲜明和婉转的辩证要求 ;应当以美 (雅 )为上品 ,包括感性美和理性美、华丽美和朴素美、阴柔美和阳刚美的不同范畴。只有这样 ,文章语言才有根基 ,有功用 ,有品位。 The principles of faithfulness, fluency and elegance of language used in translation, put forward by Mr. YAN Fu in modern times, is also the classical condensation of the application of the aesthetic standards of language use in essay writings. They coincide with the fundamental spirit we are pursuing now-the true, the good and the beautiful. They three each have rich connotation, among which three exists a systematic climax process. The language in writings should take the true (faithfulness) as the basis, including the relevant layers that language expressing highly correspond with the plotting result, and the plotting result with the objective reason. It should take the good (fluency) as the core, including the dialectic requirements of smoothness and novelty, complexity and brevity, sharpness and indirectness. It should take the beautiful (elegance) as the highest grade, including various scopes of the beauty of emotion and reason, the beauty of splendor and plainness and the beauty of softness and manliness.
