The focus of this paper is on the application of GPS technology and total-station instrument together with survey calculation program in the construction of Xianfeng crossroads bridge of Harbin city. First, we set up the first-class control net of the road and bridge utilizing GPS. Then we survey and design for using total-station instrument. Finally, we combine the total-station instrument and the program that we developed to realize fast calculation and precision sample. The paper introduces the detailed approach by the given case of Xianfeng crossroads engineering.
