This paper examines the system of Guqin schools after Song, explains that the transmission of Chinese Guqin schools began with Zhejiang Qin School in the Song Dynasty. Guo Mian laid the foundation first. It was spread to Xu Tianming by Liu Zhifang, and formed 'XU' tradition. Then Xu's descendant Xu Mengji and disciple Zhang Zhu spread it to the Wu area, and formed Wu School. It derived Yushan School in Changshu in late Ming Dynasty and derived Guanling School in Yangzhou during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. Modern schools of Pucheng, Zhucheng, Fanzhou, Jingling, Jiuyi, and Lingnan are all extensions of the origin.
