本文通过对激光技术四十多年发展历程的回顾 ,阐明了激光利用其本身固有的特性 ,作为人类改造和认识自然强有力的工具 ,在当代许多领域发挥了重大作用 :如科学研究、工业、军事、通讯等等。最后 ,通过对激光技术发展历程的分析 ,论述了有关激光技术发展与社会发展这两个互动过程之间的一些理论思考。

With a review of the forty-year development of laser technology, this paper shows that, with its inherent characters, laser has been applied as a strong modeling aid for mankind to know and change the nature, and that it has played an important role in many fields, such as science research, industry, military affairs, and communication.
