丁玲延安时期的小说中有两类新的人物形象。一类是将个人置身在人物所属的阶级和群体之中,其行为表现出先进性,为群体所认同,符合主旋律。另一类是作为人物所属阶级、群体中的精神觉醒者,在与包括所属阶级、群体旧的生存状态、传统影响在内的矛盾对抗中,显出强烈的个性特征。

The characters in the novels written by Ding Ling during her stay in Yan An can be divided into two new types. One type are those who place themselves in the midst of their social class and group. They behave meritoriously and their moral character is acknowledged by their group because it conforms to their standard. The other are the awakened people in their social class and group. They show strong personality in their struggle with the contradictions including the old living state of their class and group and the influence of tradition during which they show their distinction .
