Standardization of the Use of Characters Used in People’s Names

人名用字中包含着个人的人格尊严和合法权益 ,包含着人们的寻根意识、美学追求和品位意识 ,与一般用字大不相同 ,因此 ,其规范化的原则应与一般用字有所区别。从字形方面说 ,人名中的异体字应当保留 ,非对称繁简字应当恢复为对称 ;从人名方面说 ,对已有人名的用字应当尊重历史、承认现实 ,尽量保持其本来面貌 ;对新生人名用字应加强引导和管理 。

The use of characters in people’s names is different from general ones because these characters often imply dignity, rights, and even the trace of the ancestors. The difference leads to a special standard for the use of these characters. On one hand, the variant forms of fonts should be allowed; the traditional characters and the simplified characters should be made conformally mapped. On the other hand, we should approbate the existing characters, and try to avoid using anomalous new names
