From Data Analysis to Data Management

以数据管理支持决策已经成为企业和政府部门的共识,在这个背景下,统计学科应积极投身于数据管理的实践之中,从数据管理供应链的整体出发,让统计方法在更广阔的领域内发挥作用。统计学科要积极创新,从企业和政府对数据管理的需求出发,开展统计方法论和统计应用的项目管理方法研究;在专业教育方面拓宽统计专业学生的知识面,采用项目教学法和电子表格改善统计普及教育的效果,从而使统计方法在企业和政府的信息化过程不致变成一种单纯的数据分析工具。

Today, firms and government agencies in China all turn to use data management as a basic tool for decision-making. Statisticians should take part in this trend, and take a data management chain as a standpoint to let statistics enter a wider field. It is suggested that statistics discipline should respond to need of firms and agencies for data management and conduct research in statistical methodology and the project management for applied statistics. As for statistical education, we should broaden knowledge structure of students majored in statistics and use project pedagogism and spreadsheet in the statistical training course for other audiences.
