The paper describes the main ideas of perturbation analysis of DEDS. The earlier results on perturbation generation, perturbation propagation and performance sensitivity are summarized. Especially, the event domain formalism for sample path, infinitesimal perturbation analysis, first-order perturbation analysis and extended perturbation analysis are explained in detail.
