摘要
五四时期不仅是中国社会从“古代”到“现代”的转折点,也是中国美学精神从“古代”到“现代”的转折点。新的美学精神以科学化、民主化、民族化和大众化为特征。体现在新艺术形象上有三个特点:高扬典型化,摒弃类型化;高扬平民化,反对贵族化;强调科学化,摒弃神秘化。而这些,不仅是属于古代范畴的“近代”与属于现代范畴的“现代”的历史分界线,而且还是中国现代美学思想的真正起点。
The May Fourth Movement initiated the transition of the Chinese society from “ancient”to “modern”; it also initiated the transition of the Chinese esthetic spirit from “ancient”to “modern”. The new esthetic spirit emphasized science, democracy, nationalism and popularization. Hence the new art image was characterized by typicalness, popular taste and adherence to science. All these marked the real beginning of modern Chinese esthetic thought.
