作为爬行动物的一类,蛇可算是地球上一个资深居民了,因而在早期的许多文学作品中就出现了蛇的踪影。不同的东西方文化赋予蛇不同的文化内涵,有关用法也是琳琅满目。文章拟从文化对比的角度,探讨蛇在东西方文化中内涵的异同,并对蛇在汉语和英语中的用法进行了一番比较。

Snake, as one of the reptiles, is said to be an old inhabitant on the earth. Therefore, snake is described in many literary works in the early stage of the development of human stage. However, the snake's cultural connotation is different in the eastern and western culture, and it's usage is different as well. This essay discusses about the cultural connotation of snake in the eastern and western culture in view of the cultural comparison, and the usage of snake in Chinese and English is also compared.
