清代台湾制糖业以大陆先进的甘蔗栽培技术及制糖方法和台湾优越的自然环境为依托 ,其产品畅销于国内外 ,在中国各产糖区独占鳌头。台湾甘蔗的广泛种植和台糖的大量生产及外销 ,为台湾带来了丰厚收益 ,促进了台湾制糖业的发展 ,并从侧面反映了台湾农业经济的进步与繁荣。

Taiwan's sugar manufacturing industry was the first of its kind in China in the Qing Dynasty. Supported by the its producls were popular both at home and abroad advanced cultivation technique of sugar cane and the advanced technique of producing sugar in mainland,and the superior natural environment in Taiwan. In Taiwan,sugar cane was widely planted and cane sugar was exported extensively. This brought Taiwan big income and promoted the development of Taiwan's sugar manufacturing industry. It also reflected one aspect of the prosperity of Taiwan's agricultural economy in the Qing Dynasty.
