The electronically controlled units of automatic transmissions are responsible for the control of vehicles speed. In order to complete the control, various travelling parameters of vehicles need to be collected to control units, the parameters include both state parameters such as velocity, etc. and parameters sent by drivers. The position of transmission lever is the important control information. This paper introduces the methods and working principles of transmission lever detecting for AG4 automatic transmission and 4T65E automatic transmission, which will provide references for design of automatic transmissions control systems.
