Determination of Pore Size Distribution and Surface Area of Several Materials Using Mercury Porosimetry and Gas Adsorption

摘要 压汞法和BET氮吸附法是目前测定孔径分布及比表面积最基本的两种方法。利用Poremas-ter33型压汞仪与Autosorb-3B型氮气吸附仪测定木材、原纸、活性炭纤维纸、纳米级SiO2粉末以及硅藻土,可以全面准确地了解其孔径分布状况及比表面积大小。 Pore size distribution(PSD)and surface area(SA)are important physical characteristics for material application. Several analytical methods can be used to determine PSD and SA of materials by gas adsorption and gas permeametry. In this paper, two methods were used to determine the PSD and SA of several kinds of materials such as wood, paper, actived carbon fiber paper, SiO2 nano-particles and diatomite. The results indicated that mercury porosimetry method is better for the PSD and SA measurement of the materials with the apertures larger than 50nm, while gas adsorption is suitable for the materials with the apertures smaller than 50nm or the powder with the particle size smaller than 100nm.
