对现行大学英语教学的思考

SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT CURRENT COLLEGE ENGLISH TEACHING

现行的大学英语教学存在许多不足之处。本文主要从教材、师资、教学模式、四、六级考试方面分析了存在的问题。同时指出 ,只有转变教学思想 ,更新教学观念 ,提高师资水平 ,改革四、六级考试制度 ,改革现有教学模式 ,采用多媒体教学才能从根本上改变学生只学不会用的现状。

Many problems exist in current English teaching in colleges and universities. This paper discusses such problems in in the respects of textbooks, teachers, teaching models and CET band 4 and band 6 and argues that only when we succeed in changing our out-of-date teaching ideology, improving the competence of the teachers, reforming the current English test system and English teaching approaches and adopting multi-media in language teaching, can we overcome the short-coming in current English teaching expressed in that students cannot use English in their real life even though they have studied the language for many years.
