The Embarrassment of Inheriting

在西方早已没落的学院艺术 ,在中国却起着传承传统文化与接纳前沿文化的双重作用 ,然而传承正统文化与寻找个人话语却有着不可调和矛盾 ,中国当代学院艺术正努力寻找着这个平衡支点。

The academic art, which has long been backward in the West, performs two functions: to inherit traditional culture and to accept the frontier culture. However, there is an uncompromisable contradiction between the heritage of the orthodox culture and the search of personal words. Great efforts are being made in present Chinese academic art to find the fulcrum of balance.
