哈代在小说中综合运用多种美学技巧,以精妙的艺术形式来处理悲剧题材,达到内容与形式的统一,并以此来阐述他的悲观主义哲学。本文试从作品结构美学角度分析哈代所运用的叙事方式和叙事角度、对立凸显的平衡美学以及象征主义手法,阐释他在小说创作表层结构中的美学维度。

Combining several aesthetical skills together,Thomas Hardy succeeds in interpreting his tragic philosophy through his intricate artistic form.By analyzing this highly representative,however,overlooked,short fiction,we can have a good command of these aesthetical skills used in his novel creation.This paper tries to analyze the narrating form and point,foregrounding by opposition as well as symbolism in the superficial level of the novel, with a view to expounding on these aesthetical dimensions in Hardy's novel creation.
