对于经济学自身的发展而言,“经济人”假定一直扮演着十分重要的角色,它揭示了人们总是在既定的约束条件下选择和追求最有利于主体自身的经济方案,并寻求利益极大化的深刻奥秘。“经济人”理论庸俗化的结果不仅提倡严重的极端个人主义和无政府主义,还导致经济自由主义的复活,引起人们对经济学发展前途的担忧。实际上,经济学的发展没有法定的界限,在经济学快速发展的今天,不能说经济学扩展了研究领域就是经济学帝国主义。经济学研究的细分和专业化,是经济学日益成熟的标志,我们用不着杞人忧天。

The hypothesis of economic man is very important to the development of economics, because it reveals the inside story of people seeking maximum interest in fixed conditions. But, Some people abused the hypothesis, this kind of abuse leads to extreme individualism and anarchism, then, it leads to the revival of economic liberalism and some scholars' worrying about the future of economics. In fact, the development of economics has no limited and fixed way, we couldn't call it economics imperialism if economics expands its research fields. The division and specialized study of economics is economics' development in this complicated society, we needn't worry about this kind of develpment.
