Spread of Shakespearean Study by Marxism in China ——On Zhao Li's Ideas About Shakespearean Study

赵澧在莎学研究中以辩证唯物主义与历史唯物主义解析莎士比亚及其作品 ,并注重影响莎士比亚创作的时代因素 ,进而把握莎士比亚的特征和重点莎剧的主题思想、艺术特点 ,还对西方莎学和前苏联马克思主义莎学中的谬误提出了批评。他的莎学研究为中国莎学的发展奠定了坚实的基础。

Zhao Li applies Dialectical Materialism and Historical Materialism to the exploration of Shakespeare and his works. He also takes into consideration the factor of times when Shakespeare's works appeared so as to grasp the characteristics of Shakespeare and the themes and stylistics features of main Shakespeare's works. Besides, he puts his critical views towards the mistakes in the western study of Shakespeare and Shakespearean study by Marxism in the former Soviet Union. Zhao's Shakespearean study lays a solid foundation for the development of Shakespearean study in China.
