摘要
大量课外英语阅读有助于提高英语水平是国内外许多专家学者的共识。理工科学生是否认同这一看法,他们课外英语阅读情况如何,有什么困难,用什么方法阅读,与南京大学文科学生的情况有什么相同与不同之处,这些都是本文感兴趣的问题。通过对清华大学125名学生的问卷调查和分析,初步了解了这方面的情况。
There is a consensus among many experts and scholars in China and abroad that a large amount of English reading outside class is conducive to the improvement of English proficiency. This paper attempts to find out whether students of science and engineering share this opinion, how much time they spend in reading English after class, what problems they encounter when reading other materials than textbooks, what strategies they usually use, and whether they have the same answers as students of the humanities in Nanjing University. This papers reports a survey of 125 non English majors in Tsinghua University and presents the results in the relevant areas.
