English teaching cannot be isolated from testing and the analysis of testing results.Only with the scientific method of the statistical analysis can we get the overall,true,accurate,and reliable evaluating data.The paper introduces the combined application of Measures of Central Tendency,Measures of Dispersion and Standard Score to the statistical analysis of the testing re-sults,thus offering the efficient way to appraise the teacher's teaching effect so as to improve the teaching quality of College English.
