《金瓶梅词话》一书,至迟成书于明万历前期。书中所反映的明代的社会生活,应当是真实的。作者于该书中不经意而写到的当时瓷器的情况,许多已不为今人所确知,有的甚或可补陶瓷史料之空白。它对于研究古代陶瓷史,对于由此探寻该书作者的素质结构、身份地位等,均有不可替代的作用与意义,应当引起充分的重视。

The book of JIN PING MEI was published in early Wan Li Period of Ming Dynasty. The social life of Ming Dynasty described in the book should be true. Many chinawares mentioned in the book by the author are not known by modern people and some of them can even fill the gaps in chinaware history.They play an important role in the studies of the author and of the ancient chinaware history as well.
