Dry gas seal, as a new type of shaft end seal, had progressively replaced the original seal and been used in heavy centrifugal compressors, with its satisfactory seal performance and lower operating cost. a summarization on operating condition of dry seal in the centrifugal compressors of the medium pressure hydrogenation plant of 1,200kt/a in No.3 Refinery was introduced, and an analysis on its economic performance was also put forward.
