康熙是中国历史上为数不多的英明君主之一。他一生积极有为、奋发进取 ,文治武功 ,彪炳史册 ,其政事之暇留下的一千多首诗歌就是这种精神最好的注解。康熙的诗歌无论是关于靖国安邦、关心民瘼、善始善终 ,还是关于接受新事物、反对神仙方士等 ,都体现了一种积极的生活态度 ,其终极目的是为实现一生孜孜以求的太平盛世理想。

Emperor Kangxi was one of the wisest emperors in Chinese history. He was very positive and promising and initiative all his life. His policy and military achievements were splendid in history. And over 1000 poems he had left are the best annotation of this spirit. His poems about either strengthening the country or accepting new things or opposing alchemists all reflect his positive attitude toward life. His final object was to fulfill his ideal of piping times of peace,after which he diligently strived all his life.
