Metadata Profile for the China Cultural Celebrities' Manuscripts Library

本文详细论述了上海图书馆名人手稿馆元数据方案的设计,首先说明了设计时的总体考虑、设计原则、设计流程及元数据方案针对的资源特点;然后简要介绍了最终成型的元数据方案,包括对方案性质的定位、方案的组成、方案的属性元素集、置标方案及著录规则等内容;最后提出了一些方案制定中的问题,期望能与国内同行共同商讨。

This paper is a description on the implementation of a metadata profile derived from multi metadata standards and speeifications for the China Cultural Celebrities' Manuscripts Library.Firstly,we gave an introduction on the general considerations,principles,procedure approaches and characteristics of the resources.Secondly,we explain the whole metadata profile,including the functions,documents, elements in the metadata profile,metadata encoding schema and the rules for cataloging.At last,a few big issues in the design of metadata profile have been discussed.
