Lan Chengbao's symphony to some extent reflects calm thinking and rational choice of young composers in 1990s who went through resuscitation after 'cultural revolution', the rise of new music, the wave of going abroad and homecoming. For the composer's symphony creation, the article expounds its basic state, creation feature and cognition of it. It includes an exploration to Guangdon music' s ' symphonicizition', the combination of traditional and modern composing techniques. It also involves drawing from folk songs and rhythms, simulating of folk color, developing of traditional composing technique, applying of modem techniques, and combination of tradition and modernism.
