大学生对英语学习的根本需求与课堂教学

Basic Needs of University Students Attending College English Classes

通过分析调研的结果,可看出学生对大学英语学习的根本需求是提高实际运用语言的能力,现行的测试和测试引导下的教学模式与学生的根本需求存在一定矛盾。因此提出几点尝试性的课堂教学设想。

We analyze the results of an investigation into the basic needs of university students at-tending college English classes.We find that the main aim of most students is to improve their language proficiency rather that pass national examinations such as CET-4,and that such a goal often conflicts with the existing testing system and the corresponding approaches to teaching.A case can therefore be made for new testing systems and teaching methods in order to meet the needs of college students.
