Guangxin County and the first generation of cultural celebrities in the South of the Five Ridges region

岭南文化至汉代开始崛起,而其崛起之地是在古代的广信县。广信曾是交州州府和苍梧郡治所在地,它以其优越的地理位置而一度成为岭南经济、政治和文化教育的中心,并诞生了岭南第一代文化名人。

The culture of Lingnan(the South of the Five Ridges region)witnessed its dynamic development first in the ancient Guangxin County during the Han Dynasty. Guangxin, as the location of the Jiaozhou Prefecture and Cangwu County, once became the economic, political, cultural and educational center of the South of the Five Ridges region because of its superior geographical position, and whereby the first generation of cultural celebrities emerged.
