A satisfactory design methodology for porous asphalt mixture is needed owing to its special formation and specific function in road construction.A survey is made on the design principles concerning the standards of materials and the matching ways in the USA,Europe and Japan.The recent domestic research achievements in gradation and asphalt content are also introduced.A complete design for this mixture is demonstrated.
