语言文字规范是一项长期的工作,规范要兼顾语言的统一性和多样性,要有开放的、动态的和发展的观点。"约定俗成、逐渐规范"和"词竞众择、适者生存"应成为新词新语规范的总原则。港台新词语的吸纳和运用要以贴近内地现实生活,有理、有利、有节为原则,具体情况具体分析,有所区别,有取有舍,吸取不瞎取,使用但不滥用。

Language normalization, in its long process, should give consideration to the unity and plurality of the language. It ought to take on an open, dynamic and developing attitude. The general guiding principles for the normalization of new words are 'gradual normalization, establishment by usage' and 'survival of the fittest.' The absorption of the new words from Hongkong and Taiwan varies in different cases. Under the principle of felicity, some can be taken in while others ruled out. These new words should not be overused.
