The functions of multimedia in English language teaching are analyzed from the aspects of its advantages,teaching mode and teaching efficiency.The diversity and large capacity of information input and multi-dimensional stimuˉlation in sensory organs can absorb the students'attention and arouse their motivation,thus turning the passive learning into active one and improving the teaching efficiency.
